Disney are, of course, masterful with their movies; from narratives, characters, all the way down to tiny easter eggs few people notice. They are also well-known and prised on their musical numbers, and recent release Encanto more than impressed viewers upon its release in November, 2021.

Encanto follows the story of young Mirabel Madrigal (Stephanie Beatriz), the only one in her magical family without a gift. She lives among her amazing relatives who can do everything from bloom their own flowers, to speaking to animals.
However, when Mirabel notices that her family are losing their magic, it’s up to her to find out what’s going on, and how she can possibly save the Madrigals from losing their amazing, unique gifts.
Encanto was met with admiration and praise following its release; fans adored the heartwarming, emotional story that had comedy spread throughout.
As well as a wonderful narrative, audiences also obsessed over the incredible musical numbers within the movie, all of which were written by the talented, multi-award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
With fans loving the original songs, it became clear that one score in particular was climbing the charts and becoming one of Disney’s top hits. We Don’t Talk About Bruno has joined Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King, and Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas.
Within the movie, We Don’t Talk About Bruno essentially serves as the villain song, much like Be Prepared from The Lion King, which is sung by the villain of the movie, Scar (Jeremy Irons); however, this song is not sung by Bruno (John Leguizamo)...
The song is sung by different members of the Madrigal family, who sing about their relative, Bruno, who disappeared long ago; they all seem somewhat afraid of him, and are hesitant to even discuss his name, much like Voldemort in the Harry Potter series.
Despite the Madrigal family not wanting to speak of Bruno too much, audiences on the other hand, became obsessed with the delightful, catchy tune, which is now all over the internet.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno now sits at number four on Billboard, meaning it is becoming the highest-charting song since 1995’s Colors of the Wind.
The song’s chorus proves to be a fan favourite, with “We don’t talk about Bruno-no-no" being repeated over and over; this makes for a very catchy and enjoyable musical score.
Otherwise, the song is somewhat wordy and features different voices overlapping one another, which was actually admired and adored by audiences.
The movie is a hit, and will no doubt be in the minds of fans for a very long time.
Encanto can now be streamed online, exclusively on Disney+.
