Emma Stone says that she wants the death of Gwen Stacy to stay true to the comic book.
The actress is currently filming The Amazing Spider Man 2, where she will take on the role of Gwen for the second time.
And while fans were not happy with how Gwen met her end in the comics Stone is insisting that the film should stay true to it.
Speaking to SFX the actress said: "Essentially the argument is that Spider-Man kills her by accident. So the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing.
"Apparently people unsubscribed to the comic book when that happened because they were just so flipped out over it. But, of course, I want to stay true to that."
Marc Webb is back in the director's chair for the Spider Man sequel while Andrew Garfield is back in the title role.
The first instalment of the rebooted franchise only hit the big screen last year but work is already well underway on the new movie.
Stone has already enjoyed huge box office success this year as she lent her voice to animation movie The Croods - a sequel is already believed to be in the pipeline.
She is also set to team up with Guillermo del Toro for the first time on his new project Crimson Peak.
The Amazing Spider Man 2 is released 18th April 2014.
