Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe have been tapped for the starring roles in the period fantasy ‘100 Nights of Hero’.
The ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ actor and ‘Longlegs’ star have been offered leading parts in director Julia Jackman’s upcoming movie, which is based on the 2016 graphic novel of the same name by Isabel Greenberg.
The flick - which will also see popstar Charli XCX and Nicholas Galitzine appear - follows neglectful husband Jerome who makes a wager with his friend Manfred (Galitzine) that if he can seduce his wife Cherry (Monroe) within 100 nights, his pal can keep his castle.
However, what Jerome doesn’t know is that his wife is in love with her maid Hero, as played by Corrin.
'The Crown' star recently appeared alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the Marvel blockbuster ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ as Cassandra Nova - Professor X’s evil twin.
The actor - who uses they/them pronouns - explained that they wanted to "pay homage" to previous iterations of Charles Xavier, who had been played by Sir Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy, with their performance as the telepathic villain.
Emma told Screen Rant: "I did look back at those two performances. I hesitated before I did because I was like, ‘Do I want to get too close? Will I still be able to make it my own?’
"But I found it really interesting how they portrayed someone whose power is very internal and telepathic in that telepathic world. I wanted to see if there were any bits that I could use or pay homage to that, obviously, fans would really enjoy."
‘The Crown’ star added they "felt terrible" killing off Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm - who is also known as The Human Torch - in the movie because fans were "so excited" to see the actor reprise his ‘Fantastic Four’ role.
Speaking to British GQ, they said: "I felt so bad when we were in the screening the other day.
"Because we watched it after the New York premiere with all these Lincoln Center full of fans, and everyone was so excited when they saw him appear on screen, and then after three minutes, I’ve killed him. I felt terrible. I was hiding in my seat."
