Emilia Clarke says there was an 'ease' to working with Arnold Schwarzenegger on Terminator Genisys.
Clarke is set to take over the role of Sarah Connor for the first time in Terminator Genisys, while Schwarzenegger reprises the role of the Terminator in this latest instalment of the franchise.
And Clarke reveals that there was a tension amongst the cast before Schwarzenegger turned up for a read-through, but it was the actor himself who dispersed that upon arrival.
Speaking to The Sun, the actress said: "He is in himself an icon, let alone being a Terminator on top of that.
"I first met him at the opening read-through and I felt the tension in the room of just waiting for the Terminator to arrive.
"He just defused the tension instantly with his charm and ease and comedy. It was just such an ease to work with him. After the read-through we were all, 'We've heard it now, we've felt the tingles for the first time.'"
Clarke is not the only new face on the Terminator Genisys cast list as Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney have taken over the roles of John Connor and Kyle Reese, while J.K. Simmons and Matt Smith are also on board.
The movie also sees a new face in the director's chair as Alan Taylor is at the helm of a Terminator movie for the first time. This is the first directorial outing for Taylor since the huge success of Thor: The Dark World back in 2013.
As for Clarke, this is the biggest movie role of her career to date and the first time that we have seen her on the big screen since Dom Hemingway.
The actress has also completed work on Voice from the Stone and can be seen back on the small screen as Daenerys Targaryen in the fifth series of Game of Thrones.
Terminator Genisys is released 3rd July.
