Ellen Page says she never expected to play Kitty Pryde again and so she is delighted to be involved with X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The actress played the role of Kitty Pryde for the first time in X-Men: The Last Stand but this movie sees her team up with director Bryan Singer for the first time.
And she admits that she was surprised when she was asked to come on board the latest X-Men movie.
Speaking to Collider the actress said: "I didn’t know for that long. I knew they were kind of doing it, but I didn’t expect it.
"I didn’t expect to play Kitty Pryde again, so when that came up and I met with Bryan, because I didn’t work with Bryan I worked with Brett Ratner [on 'The Last Stand'], it was just awesome.
"I feel so grateful to be back... Really, truly, it’s not like something I’ve known for a year by any means. I really didn’t know that long before we went to shoot."
Page is not the only familiar face from the original series of X-Men movies to return as Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart are all back.
Filming on X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently underway and the movie will be released 18th July 2014.
