Dane DeHaan, George MacKay, Lupita Nyong’o, Will Poulter and Léa Seydoux are set to battle it out for the EE Rising Star Award 2014.
The Rising Star Award is the first of the Bafta announcements to be made and brings together a great mix of upcoming stars.
DeHaan is the only American in the running this year after a great 2013, which included films such as Metallica Through the Never, Kill Your Darlings and Lincoln.
He will move into the blockbuster this summer as he is set to take on the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider Man 2.
Lupita Nyong’o is set to make her big screen debut this week in 12 Years A Slave, and is a favourite to pick up a Best Supporting Actress nomination later this month.
Léa Seydoux has also been whipping up a storm this year with her performance in Blue Is the Warmest Colour: the film won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival last year.
George MacKay and Will Poutler are the two British actors on the list and are a couple of the most exciting up and coming talents.
MacKay starred in How I Live Now and the fantastic Sunshine on Leith last year. He is set to appear in Pride and Bypass in 2014.

He turned his hands to comedy last year with We're The Millers and has Plastic, Kids in Love and The Maze Runner in the pipeline this year.
The winner will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony on Sunday 16 February 2014, with nominees selected by an influential group of jurors including actress Gemma Arterton, Deputy Chair of BAFTA’s Film Committee Pippa Harris, and film critic Mark Kermode.
