Eddie Redmayne is set to reunite with director Tom Hooper for new drama The Danish Girl.
Redmayne and Hooper worked together for the first time last year, when Les Miserables was brought to the big screen.
The Danish Girl is an adaptation of the 2001 book by David Ebershoff, and follows the real-life love story of Danish painters Einar Wegener and his wife Gerda.
Wegener became one of the first men to have a sex change, officially becoming Lili Elbe in 1930.
Redmayne will take on the role of Wegener in the film, which will be one of the most challenging roles of his career. to date.
The British actor is currently the only name officially on the cast list.
Les Miserable was the last time that we saw Redmayne on the big screen, but he has two very different film projects on the horizon.
He is part of the all-star cast of Jupiter Ascending this summer, which will see him work with directors Andy and Lana Wachowski for the first time.
He will also take on the role of Stephen Hawking in Theory of Everything at the beginning of 2015.
Felicity Jones, Emily Watson, Harry Lloyd, and David Thewlis complete the line up. Jones will play Jane Hawking in the film.
