Dominic Cooper will appear in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
The British actor has hinted he has reprised his role as Howard Stark, one of the founders of superhero peacekeeping organisation S.H.I.E.L.D., in the sequel to 2011's blockbuster hit.
Asked whether he was returning to the action film, he told Total Film: "Well... It's hard to say. We're shooting something for it. I've worn the costume again.
"But whether they just had me put it on as a joke, I don't know! It was good fun getting back into it and he's got some very cool shades now. But who knows..."
Howard was a central figure in the first film - which was set in the 1940s - having helped create Captain America and his special shield, but he is only expected to play a minor role in the follow-up.
The majority of the sequel - directed by Anthony and Joe Russo - will take place in the present day after the captain, who was frozen in time at the end of the last film, was discovered by S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury.
Chris Evans will return as the titular hero, while Sebastian Stan and Samuel L. Jackson will reprise their roles as Sergeant James 'Bucky' Barnes and Nick Fury, respectively. Scarlett Johansson will join the cast, also, as her 'Avengers' and 'Iron Man 2' character Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow.
Robert Redford confirmed last month he will play the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. and 'Revenge' star Emily VanCamp has been cast as a love interest to Evans' character.
