Domhnall Gleeson says he ‘totally trusted’ Angelina Jolie as a director.
Gleeson has teamed up with Jolie for the first time as the actress moved back behind the camera for her second feature film Unbroken.
Unbroken is already one of the most talked about movies of 2014, and is being tipped as a major Oscar contender. The film will follow the life of Louis Zamperini: and athlete who was captured by the Japanese during the World War II.
The movie sees Jolie return to the director’s chair, and Gleeson had nothing but praise for the Oscar winning actress.
Speaking to the Press Association, the actor said: "She likes to get stuck in. She's some woman. She's great.
"She was everything you want from a great director, you know. She was caring and present - she has a lot of drive and talent and all of those things you need people to be if you really trust the director, and I totally trusted her.
"I think that's about as high a compliment an actor could give a director."
Gleeson is part of a terrific cast for the film, as Jack O’Connell, Jai Courtney, Garrett Hedlund, and Luke Treadaway are all also on board.
Unbroken is just one of the high profile projects that Gleeson is involved with, as it was announced last week that he had landed a role in Star Wars: Episode VII - however, his role is yet to be revealed.
Gleeson will be back on the big screen this week as he stars alongside Michael Fassbender and Maggie Gyllenhaal in Frank: a movie that has been received well on the festival circuit so far this year.
Unbroken is released 26th December.
