Doctor Strange looks set to be one of the big Marvel projects coming up in Phase 3, and it seems there are four directors in the frame to helm the project.
There has been plenty of talk about bringing Doctor Strange to the big screen for some time, and now it looks like the wheels are in motion.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is looking closely at four filmmakers as they try to find the right director for the project.
Those believed to be under consideration include Mark Andrews, Nikolaj Arcel, Dean Israelite and Jonathan Levine.
Andrews co-directed animation film Brave, Levine was behind comedy/drama 50/50, Arcel was behind the fantastic A Royal Affair, while Israelite is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming Welcome To Yesterday.
Phase 3 of Marvel films remains a mystery; Ant-Man is the only film that we know is definitely going ahead. Ant-Man will kick off Phase 3 in the summer of 2015.
There has been talk of a possible solo outing for The Hulk, or maybe The Black Widow will get her own solo film. There has also been some talk about Black Panther being brought to the big screen for the first time.
Before Phase 3 gets underway, Phase 2 is set to go out with a bang with Captain America: The Winter Solider, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron all set to release in the next year.
