Disney have recently released a brand-new trailer and beautiful poster for upcoming movie, Encanto, starring Brooklyn 99 actor Stephanie Beatriz as main character Mirabel.
The second trailer showcases the excitement of Encanto and the wondrous world we’re invited to see this November (2021).
The movie tells the story of the Madrigals, a unique family who live in a charming, mesmerising place called an Encanto. Every child there has a magical gift unique to them, such as shape shifting; well, everyone except Mirabel.
However, Mirabel isn’t as normal as she thinks she is, because when the family’s home becomes endangered, Mirabel may be their only hope to save who and what she loves.
As well as the exciting new trailer, Disney also announced the cast member who will be voicing uncle Bruno; John Leguizamo (Ice Age).
Bruno, Mirabel’s uncle, has the gift to see the future, and his brutal honesty about the doomsday times ahead aren’t exactly popular with the family; so, he disappeared and became but mere story.
Leguizamo stated that “Bruno is so compelling because he is that guy that never quite fits in. He's an outsider, but he also understands the world better because he's always wanted to belong to it.”
Leguizamo, who starred in Ride Along and John Wick, said that he was “so pumped to be added to the party… this is such a beautiful story. The magic is enchanting, the comedy is so sharp, and the world created is irresistible.”
Not only does Encanto have some amazing voice talent, but it has some incredible crew members. The fil, features new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana), who is known for his musical expertise; Encanto is directed by Byron Howard (Zootropolis, Tangled).
As well as Beatriz and Leguizamo, the cast also includes María Cecilia Botero as Mirabel’s grandmother Alma aka Abuela; Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama as Mirabel’s parents, Julieta and Agustín; and Diane Guererro and Jessica Darrow as Mirabel’s sisters, Isabela and Luisa. Also lending their voices are Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo as Mirabel’s aunt and uncle, Pepa and Félix; and Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz and Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Mirabel’s cousins Dolores, Camilo and Antonio, respectively.
The new trailer invites audiences in even further than last time, as we see more of Mirabel’s life, her family, and the amazing place she lives in. She seems sad she does not have a gift like everyone else, but Disney have their ways, and will no doubt lift Mirabel up high.
There is so much to appreciate just within the trailer alone, so imagine how incredible the full-length feature will be…
Encanto will be in cinemas on November 24th, 2021.
