Jacques Audiard is set to return to the director's chair this spring with his new film Dheepan.
Audiard has already brought us terrific movies such as A Prophet and Rust and Bone and Dheepan sees him tackle the crime/drama genre.
As well as being in the director's chair, Audiard has also teamed up with Thomas Bidegain and Noé Debré to pen the screenplay. I was a big fan of Rust and Bone in 2012 and I cannot wait to see what the filmmaker delivers this time around.
The brand new trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:
Jesuthasan Antonythasan is set to take on the title role and is joined on the cast list by Kalieaswari Srinivasan, Claudine Vinasithamby, Vincent Rottiers, and Faouzi Bensaïdi.
The movie is a powerful story of Dheepan, a Sri Lankan Tamil warrior who is forced to flee to France to escape the civil war, posing as a family with a woman and young girl he has never previously met.
Finding work as a caretaker of a housing block in the suburbs of Paris, Dheepan works to build a new life and home for his 'wife' and 'daughter', but the daily violence he confronts quickly reopens the violence from his past, and he is left fighting for their livelihood, and eventually their lives.
Dheepan won the Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and really is set to be one of the April movies that you cannot afford to miss.
Dheepan is released 8th April.
