Dexter Fletcher is no longer directing the Freddie Mercury.
Fletcher was set to make his third directorial outing with the new biopic; however, Deadline reports that he has exited the project over creative difference with producer Graham King.
The biopic is a film that has already been plagued with problems, having lost Sacha Baron Cohen last year: he was due to take on the role of Mercury.
Ben Whishaw is now attached the project to play Queen’s iconic front man. He joined the film last year after the exit of Cohen.
The hunt is now on for a new director. A shoot date for the project is yet to be revealed.
Fletcher made his feature film directorial debut in 2012 with the fantastic Wild Bill. He followed that up last year as he turned his hand to the musical for the first time with Sunshine On Leith.
He will be back in front of the camera later this month in Muppets Most Wanted, and has also completed work on The Coven.
