Dexter Fletcher says that acting is on the 'back burner' as he concentrates on his directing career.
Fletcher is best known for his acting roles in the likes of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Layer Cake and Band of Brothers, but he has successfully made the leap to the director's chair.
And now that he has made that leap, Fletcher says that this is where his main career focus is going forward - but he will take acing roles if he has time to fit them in.
Speaking to the Press Association, the actor said: "I go and do bits and pieces, a day here, a day there for friends, for fun.
"But the directing is taking up so much of my time that I've let the 40 years of acting go on the back burner for a little while.
"But I do stuff that I think is going to be fun, and if I have time fit it in."
Fletcher made his feature film directorial debut back in 2012 with the excellent drama Wild Bill. He returned to the director's chair last year, as he tackled the musical with Sunshine on Leith.
And he has a biopic film in the pipeline as well as being set to reunite with director Matthew Vaughn for a new project.
He continued: "I might be doing a biopic, but I can't announce what it is just yet.
"I might be working with Matt Vaughn, who's an old friend of mine who I worked with on Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels a hundred and fifty years ago.
"Hopefully we've got a project we're trying to put together that's a biopic, so fingers crossed we get that going."
In terms of acting, he has completed work on The Coven.
