Denzel Washington will be returning to the director's chair to helm a big screen adaptation of August Wilson's Fences.
Fences has been a hugely successful play on Broadway with Washington starring in the show.
Washington's performance in the play earnt his a Tony award for best actor as he teamed up with Viola Davis.
Fences would be the first directorial outing for Washington since The Great Debaters back in 2007.
It would be the Oscar winners third film as director having made his debut back in 2002 with Antwone Fisher.
Washington is on the big screen at the moment with his new movie Flight - which sees him team up with director Robert Zemeckis.
Washington has picked up another Best Actor Oscar nomination for his central performance in Flight, which is his first film since Safe House at the beginning of last year.
The actor will also be back on the big screen later this year as he teams up with Mark Wahlberg for 2 Guns.
