Denzel Washington says that he is passionate about acting again.
The Oscar winner returned to the big screen this weekend with his new movie Safe House but he admits that he has gone through a period where he was disenchanted with acting.
Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "I went through a phase where I was sick of acting.
"I was tired and bored and I didn't really want to do it any more.
"I don't know how many more movies I'm going to get the opportunity to make and I don't want to look back and think, 'Man, I just floated into that one' or 'I just did that for the money'.
"I want to be able to say that I worked as hard as I could."
Safe House sees Washington team up with Ryan Reynolds and Brendan Gleeson - the film has already topped the U.S. box office.
The action movie is his first role since Unstoppable but he has also finished work on Flight.
Safe House is out now.
