Denise Richards and Mischa Barton are to star in 'The Toybox'.
The 'Wild Things' star and 'The O.C.' alumnus have joined forces for the supernatural thriller which is being directed by horror master Tom Nagel.
Jeff Denton - who starred in Nagel's 2016 horror 'Clown Town' - has penned the script with the director and joins Denise and Mischa in the movie which is already in production.
'Clown Town' followed a group of friends who get stranded in a seemingly deserted town and find themselves stalked by a gang of violent psychopaths dressed as clowns, and the story-line behind 'Toybox' takes a similar turn of events.
It follows a family who embark on a cross-country trip but they become stranded in the desert and get caught up in a series of sinister supernatural occurrences.
Denise, 46, plays a mother trying to protect her children, while 31-year-old Mischa's character is a lone traveler, who joins the group and gets caught up in the evil events.
The director's brother Brian Nagel, Greg Violand, Matt Mercer, Malika Michelle, David H. Greathouse, and Katie Keene make up the cast.
'Clown Town' producer Jeff Miller will take on producing duties with the Nagel brothers.
Former Bond girl Denise - whose ex-husband is Charlie Sheen - will be seen later this year in crime drama 'American Violence' in which she takes the leads as psychologist Dr. Amanda Tyler who is given the opportunity to interview death row inmate Jackson Shea (Kaiwi Lyman).
