Demian Bichir has joined the cast of 'Alien: Covenant'.
Bichir has signed up to director Sir Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' sequel alongside returning
star Michael Fassbender and previously-announced newcomers Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride, Deadline.com reports.
The Fox film - which has a screenplay by Jack Paglen and Michael Green - will see the return of Fassbender as the amoral android from 'Prometheus', but plot details are being kept under wraps.
A shoot in Australia is currently entering production.
Demian - who was nominated for an Oscar for 'A Better Life' - was last seen in Quentin Tarantino's star-studded Western 'The Hateful Eight' and can next be seen alongside Eva Longoria in drama 'Low Riders'.
It was recently confirmed Noomi Rapace will not be returning for the second part of the director's prequel trilogy.
Asked if she'll be back, director Scott said no and added: "We're still casting the main roles."
Though shooting hasn't begun yet, the filmmaker knows exactly what the movie will look like thanks to his very detailed storyboards, which contain every planned camera shot from every angle.
He said: "Drawing up front can save a lot of time and energy."
'Alien: Covenant' is scheduled for release in October 2017.
