A brand new trailer for upcoming feature, Death on the Nile, has arrived. Five-time Academy Award nominee Kenneth Branagh is set to direct and star in this story of passion and envy that includes an impressive all-star cast.
Death on the Nile is a bold and outlandish mystery-thriller based on the 1937 novel of the same name written by Agatha Christie; it is an emotional, chaotic story filled with deadly choices and violent results triggered by obsessive love.
Branagh will be back as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot, and is joined by Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, with Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright.
The forthcoming feature will see the filmmaking team for Murder on the Orient Express reunite for this incredible story, with Michael Green having written the script.
The movie will be produced by Ridley Scott, Branagh, p.g.a., Judy Hofflund, p.g.a. and Kevin J. Walsh, with Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard and Mathew Prichard serving as executive producers.
Belgian sleuth Poirot’s Egyptian holiday on board a luxurious river steamer turns into a haunting search for a murderer, when an idyllic couple’s seemingly perfect honeymoon is sadly cut short.
Death on the Nile will be set against an epic, stunning landscape of dooming deserts and majestic pyramids; the upcoming tale of passion gone wrong will see a group of international and well-dressed travelers go up against many twists and turns, which are sure to leave audiences reeling until the very last moment.
Since cinemagoers are returning to cinema seats, Disney has committed to an exclusive cinematic release for the movie. Steve Asbell, 20th Century Studios Production President, stated that “Ken’s sweeping, elegant vision for this classic story deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
“We’re so proud of this film,” continues Asbell, “our brilliant cast, and the stellar work that went into bringing Death on the Nile to screen. We know that audiences can’t wait to experience Hercule Poirot’s next adventure, and we’re thrilled to continue working with Ken as he lends his masterful storytelling vision to the newest film in this celebrated franchise.”
Death on the Nile will arrive in cinemas on February 11th, 2022.
