An impressive array of talent comes together for upcoming new comedy flick Dear Dictator, including Sir Michael Caine, Odeya Rush, Katie Holmes, Seth Green and Jason Biggs. This week, the first official trailer for the film has been revealed, which you can check out below:
Completely tongue-in-cheek, the movie will focus on Tatiana (Rush), a young teen who begins writing letters to a British-Caribbean dictator called General Anton Vincent (Caine). Overthrown in a coup, he makes his escape from his country to Tatiana’s home, which is shared with her single mum, played by Jolmes.
Hiding out in the suburban landscape, Anton and the teen teach each other their own tricks and trade, with the young girl eventually putting all the former dictator tells her into action so that she can take down the popular kids in school, and become the most popular and powerful student there has ever been.
Of course, in such an ever-changing and evolving environment, it doesn’t take long before the plans blow back into Tatiana’s face, forcing her to rely on skills she developed away from her dictator houseguest so that she can overthrow the man who is making himself far too comfortable in her home.
Written and directed by husband and wife duo Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse (Amateur Night), the movie also stars the likes of Jackson Beard, Adrian Voo, Fish Myrr, Hannah Joy Brown, Jordyn Cavros and Tony Guerrero.
Dear Dictator will come to home release later this year, following a US release of March 16, 2018.
