David S. Goyer hints that Christian Bale will not be reprising the role of Batman in the Justice League movie.

Goyer penned the scripts for all three Batman movies as well as Man of Steel and says that the Batman films took place in a different universe to one that a potential Justice League movie takes place in.

So while there could be a Batman character present in the line up for the ensemble action hero film it would not be Christian Bale's version.

Speaking to Hey U Guys the actor said: "It would be disingenuous to say Warner Bros doesn’t hope that this would be the starting point for a shared universe.

"And Zack has said that Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. It would be a different Bruce Wayne from Chris’ [Nolan] Dark Knight trilogy, and it would be disingenuous to say that Zack and I haven’t had various conversations on set, around ‘what if’ and ‘moving forward’."

It sees that the whole Justice League project does rest on the success of Man of Steel at the box office - everyone can breath a sigh of relief as the new Superman movie has stormed to the top of the U.S. box office with an impressive first weekend take.

A second Man of Steel movie is believed to already be in the pipeline but when a Justice League movie will be hitting the big screen is still unknown.
