David James Kelly is on board to write the third Wolverine film.
Deadline have reported that not only is Kelly on board, but James Mangold will be back to direct and Hugh Jackman will reprise the role of Wolverine.
There were some suggestions earlier this year that Jackman may hang up the claws, but he will return for the third stand alone film for this character.
Lauren Shuler Donner is being lined up to return and produce again, after her work on 2009's 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' and 2013's 'The Wolverine'.
The storyline for the upcoming project is being kept under wraps, but some believe the plot could follow on from the character's antics in the hotly anticipated 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.
Days of Future Past will see Jackman reunite with director Bryan Singer; who was behind X-Men and X2.
Stars from the original trilogy and First Class will be brought together for the first time.
It has also been announced that X-Men: Apocalypse is also in the pipeline; however, not cast for that film has been announced.
The Wolverine hit the big screen last year, and grossed over $414 million at the global box office.
The Wolverine 3 is set for a March 3, 2017, release.
