The music icon’s former choreography Toni Basil believes his stunning looks and acting talent would make him a perfect match for the spy saga.
She said of Bowie, “He’s very funny. He’s a fabulous actor. He knows what he’s capable of, and will suss it out and research it. And he’s drop-dead gorgeous. He’d have made a great James Bond.”
Toni, 69, worked with the ‘Where Are We Now” hitmaker on his ‘Diamond Dogs’ and ‘Glass Spider’ tours in 1974 and 1987, and praised the 66-year-old star’s fearless work ethic.
She added: “David had the greatest work ethic. Other performers freak out and get unpleasant, but he has incredible fortitude.
“He had a fear of heights, but it didn’t stop him. He got in a cherry picker [crane] for ‘Space Oddity’, and managed to sing and dance.”
Although the singer has appeared in many films, Simon Cowell recently revealed we probably won’t be seeing him on the small-screen after he’s repeatedly snubbed ‘The X Factor’ – although the music mogul won’t give up.
He said: “I think if I could have anyone on The X Factor it would be David Bowie.
“It’s no secret I’ve asked him and he hasn’t said yes yet but I’ll keep extending the invitation.”
