Danny Boyle says that there is a 40/60 chance that a sequel to 28 Weeks Later will be made.
Boyle helmed 28 Days later back in 2002 with the sequel 28 Weeks Later following in 2007.
There has been much talk of a third film since the release of 28 Weeks Later but it seems that there is as much uncertainty as ever.
Speaking to Wired the director said: "It's very difficult to know whether zombies are overexposed now as a concept.
"So it's 40/60 whether it happens or not. But we did have an idea of where to set it and what it might be about."
As for Boyle he returned to the director's chair last month with Trance, his first film since 127 Hours.
Boyle has been linked to Porno - another Irvine Welsh adaptation.
