Joe Hill says that he was excited from the moment that Daniel Radcliffe was cast in the central role in Horns.
Horns sees Hill’s novel of the same name brought to he big screen with Alexandre Aja in the director’s chair and Radcliffe leading an all star cast.
Radcliffe will take on the role of Ig Perrish in the film, a young man who awakens to find horns sprouting from his temples after the mysterious death of his girlfriend.
Speaking to Total Film writer Hill said: "I was so excited from the moment he was cast. Ig is basically a decent young man, a kind, sensitive, thoughtful guy who responds to a personal tragedy by getting drunk and going out and cursing God.
"I really feel there’s something about Radcliffe that projects decency and a kind of naïve innocence. Those seem to me to be true components of that main character. I think it’s the story of a good man trying no to turn into a demon."
But before we see Radcliffe leading the cast in Horns he will be back on the big screen with Kill Your Darlings.
The movie will be one of the films not to miss at next months BFI London Film Festival; it has already been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit.
