Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he had never cried his own tears on film until he shot new movie Kill Your Darlings.
Radcliffe takes on the role of Allen Ginsberg in new film Kill Your Darlings: his first big screen outing since the success of Woman In Black.
And the young actor reveals that he has to do lots of crying on set at the beginning of the shoot.
Speaking to Total Film the actor said: "I’ve never cried my own tears on screen before.
"In the first two weeks of filming, I cried three times in front of the whole crew. It was an amazingly cathartic thing to do."
Kill Your Darlings sees Radcliffe team up with director John Krokidas, who is making his feature film directorial debut with this movie.
This film kicks of a series of smaller and more interesting projects for Radcliffe, as he is set to appear in Horns and The F Word.
Kill Your Darlings has been winning over audiences and critics on the festival circuit as Radcliffe shows his versatility as an actor.
Radcliffe will also be returning to TV screens for the second season of A Young Doctor's Notebook with John Hamm.
Kill YOur Darlings is released 6th December.
