Daniel Craig has compared staying tight-lipped about the Spectre storyline to a magician who will not say how he has done his trick.
Excitement is building as Craig is set to return to the role of James Bond in the autumn as the highly anticipated Spectre hits the big screen. This will be the fourth Bond film for the British actor and will come three years after the billion-dollar success of Skyfall.
However, the actor will not give anything about the plot away and reveals he doesn't know why people keep asking him about it, as they know he cannot tell them.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, the actor said: "It's becomes a joke. People want to ask me what the plot is about and I'm like, 'I can't answer the question'.
"It's like when a magician does a trick and they're like, 'I'm not going to show you how it works'. I like that, keeping it a bit sacred ... you know, wait and see until the movie comes out."
Spectre will see Craig reunite with director Sam Mendes as the Oscar winning filmmaker will return to the director's chair for his second consecutive Bond movie. And Craig reveals that Mendes' first Bond movie Skyfall marked a major shift in the direction of the popular franchise.
He continued: "What happened in the last movie was a big kick, bringing Sam in and we took the movie in a different direction. We kind of created a language that was different from the other two, but that was faithful to Bond [but] that was kind of new."
Skyfall went on to be the highest grossing Bond film of all time as it became the first film in the franchise to break the $1 billion barrier at the global box office - it was also a massive critical hit as well as being a commercial smash.
With Spectre, Craig is not the only familiar face returning as Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris are back as Q, M, and Eve Moneypenny. However, there are some great new additions to the cast list as Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, and Andrew Scott are all also on board.
Spectre will be the first big screen outing for Craig since the success of Skyfall in 2012 - will Spectre be as big a hit as the previous film? I guess we really are going to have to wait and see.
Filming is still underway on the film and Spectre is set for a 23rd October release.
