Damon Lindelof has hinted that he could well be involved in the Star Wars movies, however he won't be on board for the Episode VII.

Lindelof was a producer and writer for Star Trek Into Darkness and has been a long time collaborator of director J.J. Abrams.

And with Abrams in the director's chair for the first of the new movies and could make more Star Wars movies down the line.

Speaking to Grantland he said: "I'd say over the next decade, you and I are going to get five Star Wars films, and it won't be Episode VII, but I may be involved in one of them when the pressure isn't as intense."

Lindelof and Abrams are currently enjoying huge success with their latest film Star Trek Into Darkness as it currently sits at the top of the U.S. box office.

The movie took an impressive $70.5 million in it's opening weekend in America to topple Iron Man 3 from the top spot.

As fir Star Wars the first of the new movies is set to hit the big screen in 2015 and the plan is to release a movie every year up until 2019.
