Damian Lewis says it would be "wonderful" to play James Bond.
The 'Homeland' actor would love to succeed 'Skyfall' star Daniel Craig in the role of 007 on the big screen, however, he thinks Craig is filling the character's shoes perfectly in the meantime.
In an interview with new issue of Britain's Esquire magazine, he said: "Yes, I think that would be wonderful. Daniel is doing an amazing job and he will continue to do it for a bit. But if it ever comes to that, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it."
However, the Emmy Award-winning actor is less enthused about possibly playing a superhero, admitting he often changes his mind on the subject.
He explained: "You just have to do what seems interesting at the time. If someone said, 'We want you to play 'Amazing-Man' in the next 'Amazing-Man' franchise', I suspect one year it would feel right, the next year it wouldn't."
Lewis' Bond ambitions follow in the footsteps of fellow actors Idris Elba and Hugh Jackman revealing they would also love to play the suave secret agent.
Following the success of last year's 007 movie, Craig is set to re-team with director Sam Mendes for the 24th Bond movie, which is due for release in 2015.
