Daisy Ridley has ruled out returning as Rey after 'Star Wars: Episode IX'.
The 25-year-old actress first starred as the mysterious Force-wielding orphan in 2015's 'The Force Awakens' and is set to reprise her role this December in 'The Last Jedi'.
Just recently Rian Johnson - who helmed the eighth movie - was announced to be working on a brand new trilogy separate from the Skywalker saga, but Ridley has said she won't be carrying on as Rey beyond the three films she is contracted for.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine about her pride at being part of the 'Star Wars' universe, Ridley said: "For me, I didn't really know what I was signing on to. I hadn't read the script, but from what I could tell, it was really nice people involved, so I was just like, 'Awesome.'
"Now I think I am even luckier than I knew then, to be part of something that feels so like coming home now. I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out because, ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it's three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out."
With regards to the new saga, Lucasfilm bosses are looking forward to seeing what "amazing things" Johnson comes up for his fresh trilogy, which will introduce all new characters.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said: "We all loved working with Johnson on 'The Last Jedi'.
"He's a creative force, and watching him craft 'The Last Jedi' from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do amazing things with the blank canvas of this new trilogy."
