Colin Firth has landed a role in Christopher McQuarrie's new film Three To Kill.
Firth will team up with McQuarrie for the first time as Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel is adapted for the big screen.
Firth will play a disillusioned businessman visiting the French coast who accidentally stumbles across a murder scene.
The two crazed killers then embark on a mission to hunt him down in order to eliminate anyone who could link them to the crime.
2014 is going to be a busy year for McQuarrie as he has to direct Mission: Impossible 5 before Three To Kill goes into production.
Firth will be back on the big screen in the new year in The Railway Man with Jeremy Irvine and Nicole Kidman.
He has also completed work on Before I Go To Sleep and Magic in the Moonlight. He will also be voicing the title character in Paddington.
The Oscar winner is currently filming The Secret Service, the latest film from director Matthew Vaughn.
