Christoph Waltz has been linked to a role in Pirate of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
According to the MailOnline, the actor is being lined up to play the film's villain Captain Brand.
The film would see Waltz team up with Johnny Depp for the first time as he is set to reprise the role of Captain Jack Sparrow.
Waltz is no stranger to the villain role, having picked up a Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Col. Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds.
He picked up a second Best Supporting Oscar earlier this year for his turn in Django Unchained.
Rebecca Hall is another actor who has also been linked with a role in the movie.
She has been tipped to take on the role of Carina Smith, the daughter of Captain Barbosa.
Dead Man Tell No Tales is set for a 2016 release, and will see Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg in the director's chair.
Rønning and Sandberg were behind Kon-Tiki, and will be tackling this franchise for the first time.
We last saw Jack Sparrow on the big screen in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides back in 2011. The movie was a huge success and went on to gross over $1,045 billion.
