Christian Bale is "looking forward" to watching 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
The 45-year-old actor stared as The Caped Crusader in Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' trilogy and has confirmed he'll watch the new movie, which features Ben Affleck as the titular hero, after Morgan Freeman said he was irreplaceable in the role.
Freeman - who played the head of business development Lucius Fox at Wayne Enterprises in the trio of films - said last week: "You know, I'm happy for Ben but I don't know how that's gonna work. Because 'The Dark Knight' was almost 'it'. Pretty much 'it'. Did you see 'Batman Begins'? I don't think you can beat that."
Bale was flattered by his friend's comments but he has backed Affleck's casting as Batman, insisting the role of Batman and Bruce Wayne can be portrayed in many different ways.
He said: "Everyone brings their own element to that. Ben will do that as well. I think the trailers are looking great and I'm looking forward to that. But right on for Morgan for saying no one will ever be that, I very much like him."
Bale is a huge fan of Adam West's portrayal of Batman in the 1960s television series and the spin-off movie.
The actor - who is married to Sibi Blazic - told 'Entertainment Tonight': "You can't beat Adam West, it just depends what you're in the mood for. I love watching Adam West."
