Chris Evans hopes that the role of Captain Marvel does go to Brie Larson.
Last week it was revealed that Larson was in talks to land the part of Captain Marvel, which will be the first female-led Marvel movie.
And Evans, who has worked with Larson in the past, has thrown his supported behind her casting.
Speaking on a panel at Wizard World in Philadelphia, the actor said: "I just heard about that. I really hope that happens! I love Brie Larson. We did a movie together back in '09, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."
It has already been a great year for Larson as she picked up the Best Actress Oscar for her stunning performance in Room.
Larson will also be stepping into the blockbuster for the first time next year as she teams up with Tom Hiddleston for Kong: Skull Island.
Filming has wrapped on the King Kong origins movie and sees Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Kebbell, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly on the cast list while Jordan Vogt-Roberts is in the director's chair.
2016 has also been a great year for Evans as Captain America: Civil War has opened to critical and commercial success and is the first film of the year to gross over $1 billion at the global box office.
Civil War is the third Captain America film and is the first to gross over $1 billion; following in the footsteps of Avengers Assemble, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3.
Civil War has kicked off Phase 3 of Marvel films and is the first time that we have seen Evans take on this role since the success of Avengers: Age of Ultron last year.
The actor is set to reprise the role of Steve Rogers in Avengers Infinity War Part 1 & Part 2, which will see Evans reunite with directors Anthony and Joe Russo.
Evans has also completed work on Gifted, which also stars Jenny Slate, Lindsay Duncan, Octavia Spencer, and Keir O'Donnell. The film sees Marc Webb back in the director's chair.
Captain America; Civil War is out now.
