Disney, in recent years, has taken old classics from the past and brought them into the modern-day, such as recreating beloved movies and turning them into live-action features, for example The Lion King (2019). Now, Disney are reinventing two heroes in wonderful animated brilliance.
Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers has just released its first trailer, which combines the real world with animation, similar to Who Framed Rodger Rabbit (1988).
The film brings back two adorable chipmunks who wish to re-live the glory days since their television show was cancelled back in 1989; what more could you ask for?
Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers amazing cast includes John Mulaney (Big Mouth) as Chip, Andy Samberg (Brooklyn 99) as Dale, along with KiKi Layne (If Beale Street Could Talk), Will Arnett (The Lego Batman Movie), Eric Bana (Hulk), Flula Borg (The Suicide Squad), Keegan-Michael Key (Schmigadoon!), Tress MacNeille (The Simpsons), Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave), Seth Rogen (Pam & Tommy), with J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live).
In the exciting upcoming animation, Chip and Dale live among both cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles (LA), and their lives are very different than before.
It’s been a few decades since their successful and beloved TV series was cancelled, and Chip has had to bite the bullet and become an insurance salesman, succumbing to suburban domesticity.
Meanwhile, Dale has had CGI surgery, and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to go back to the glory days he and Chip loved so much.
However, when a former castmate goes missing under very stranger circumstances, the iconic duo must repair their fractured friendship, and get into their Rescue Rangers personas once again in order to save a friend’s life.
The trailer is jam-packed with hilarious quips, a look at what promises to be a great story, and the power of nostalgia all rolled into one – what's not to love?
Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers will be in cinemas on May 20th, 2022.
