Child 44 is a movie that I have been looking forward to for some time as it marks the return of Tom Hardy to the big screen.
Child 44 is a big screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Tom Rob Smith and sees Daniel Espinosa back in the director's chair. Espinosa has been behind movies such as Outside Love and Easy Money, but this is his first film since Safe House.
The brand new trailer for the movie has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:
Hardy takes on the central role of Leo Demidov as he teams up with filmmaker Espinosa for the first time. However, the movie will see hardy reunite with Gary Oldman, who is has worked with on the likes of The Dark Knight Rises, Lawless, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in recent years.
Hardy and Oldman are joined on the cast list by Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Charles Dances, Jason Clarke, Vincent Cassel, and Paddy Considine.
A politically-charged serial killer thriller set in 1953 Soviet Russia, Child 44 chronicles the crisis of conscience for secret police agent Leo Demidov (Hardy), who loses status, power and home when he refuses to denounce his own wife, Raisa (Rapace), as a traitor.
Exiled from Moscow to a grim provincial outpost, Leo and Raisa join forces with General Mikhail Nester (Oldman) to track down a serial killer who preys on young boys. Their quest for justice threatens a system-wide cover-up enforced by Leo's psychopathic rival Vasili (Kinnaman), who insists "There is no crime in Paradise."
There are a whole host of great looking book adaptation movies on the horizon in 2015, but Child 44 is one that looks like it is going to be a great watch.
