We are counting down the days until In The Heart of the Sea hits the big screen here at FemaleFirst as it is promising to be an edge of your seat adventure.
In The Heart of the Sea has its European Premiere in London earlier this week, which saw director Ron Howard, Chris Hemsworth and the rest of the cast grace the red carpet... now we have terrific new images from the film for you to take a look at.
I have been looking forward to In The Heart of the Sea all year as I am a big fan of Howard as a director. He has brought us fantastic character driven movies such as Apollo 13 and, more recently, Rush and I can't wait to see him put his stamp on this incredible true story.
The movie is based on novel of the same name by Nathaniel Philbrick, which chronicled the sinking of whaling ship the Essex in 1820 - this is the true-life tale that would inspire Moby Dick.
2015 has been a very busy year for Hemsworth and it looks like he is going to end the year with a bang - I really cannot wait to see the popular and talented actor in action.
Hemsworth is joined on the cast list by Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Tom Holland, Ben Whishaw, and Brendan Gleeson.
In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story.
In the Heart of the Sea reveals the encounter's harrowing aftermath, as the ship's surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.
In The Heart of the Sea is released 26th December.
