Charlie Hunnam says that 'family stuff' is the major reason why he pulled out of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Hunnam was set to star as Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of the popular novel, which will be directed by Sam Taylor-Wood.
It was announced earlier this month that he has stepped away from the role and it seemed like his Sons of Anarchy commitments were to blame.
Talking to E! News the actor said: "It's been a really busy time. I have had some family stuff going on so (I'm) just trying to stay focused and stay positive, keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family."
Hunnam's father died earlier this year and he reveals that he will be heading back to his native England to spend some time with his family.
"Like I said, I've got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons."
Crimson Peak is the film that will see Hunnam reunite with del Toro: the pair worked together on Pacific Rim that hit the big screen this summer.
The actor will then be reprising the role of Jax Teller for the final time in the seventh season of Sons of Anarchy.
