Chadwick Boseman has joined the cast list of Gods of Egypt.
Boseman is set to take on the role of Throth, the God of wisdom alongside Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush, according to Deadline.
Gods of Egypt will mark the return of Alex Proyas to the director's chair; he also teamed up with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless to pen the screenplay.
The story is set in ancient Egypt and sees Set (Butler) kill his brother Osiris, which leads to Horus - the son of Osiris - team up with Hathor, the Goddess of love to seek revenge on his uncle.
Rush will play the sun God, Ra, who is father to Butler's Set and the murdered Osiris.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Brenton Thwaites are also on the all star cast list.
Boseman made his big screen breakthrough last year with his role as Jackie Robinson in 42.
He has completed work on Draft Day with Kevin Costner and is currently working on Get On Up.
Get On Up is a biopic film about James Brown, with Boseman taking on the main role.
Filming for 'Gods of Egypt' will kick off later this year in Australia and is set for release on February 12, 2016.
