Cate Blanchett has revealed that her audition for Woody Allen for new movie Blue Jasmine, took just two minutes.
The actress is set to lead the cast in Allen's latest film - it will be the first time that actor/director have worked together.
And the Oscar winner reveals that the audition process was a little more straight-forward than she thought it was going to be.
Speaking to Vanity Fair the actress said: "He called, and we spoke for about a minute and a half, and he said he had a script, and was I interested in reading it, and I said, 'Uh, yes I am.'
"And he sent it to me and said, 'Call me when you've read it.' And I called, and we spoke for another 45 seconds, where I said I'd love to do it, and he said, 'Great, I'll see you in San Francisco'."
Blue Jasmine will be the first role for Blanchett since she reprised the role of Galadriel in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey at the end of last year.
However, she does have a string of projects in the pipeline as she has completed work on The Turning, The Desolation of Smaug, The Monuments Men and Knight of Cups.
Blue Jasmine is released 27th September.
