Filming on Captain America: The Winter Soldier has got underway in Los Angeles.
Chris Evans has returned to the role of Captain America for the second stand alone film for the character.
We last saw Evans play Steve Rodgers last summer as part of avengers Assemble and this new movie will continue to see the character adjust to his new life in the 21st century.
This time around Antony and Joe Russo are in the director's chair as Captain America: The Winter Soldier is par of phase two of Marvel movies.
As well as announcing that filming had got underway on the project marvel Studios also released the first image from the film - which featured Evans.
There will be some familiar faces on the cast list as Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Hayley Atwell are back.
There are also some exciting additions to the cast list with Robert Redford playing Agent Alexander Pierce, Emily VanCamp on board as Agent 13 and Anthony Mackie set to play The Falcon.
A new synopsis for the film has also been revealed:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released 4th April 2014.
