Christopher Markus says he and co-writer Stephen McFeely know where they are going with Captain America 3.
Markus and McFeely are no strangers to the Marvel world having penned the screenplay for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The First Avenger. Now they are going to reunite once again for the third film in the Captain America franchise.
And Markus reveals that despite the early days of the project, he and McFeely have already got a plan in place.
Speaking to Heat Vision, Markus said: “We’ve had many, many conversations, and pretty much know where we’re going.”
Earlier this week it was revealed that Captain America 3 would take up the 6th May 2016 release date that Marvel announced last year.
This would see Captain America 3 take on Batman vs. Superman at the box office: the Man of Steel sequel was set for a 2015 release until the studio pushed the film back to do battle with the then unknown Marvel project.
When asked about this upcoming box office battle, Markus said: I think when two cars drive at each other, somebody has to veer off eventually.”
Chris Evans will reprise the role of Steve Rodger in the film, which will be a fifth movie in his six-picture deal. It has also been announced that Anthony and Joe Russo will be back in the director’s chair: they will helm Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Before Evans starts work on this new instalment of the franchise, he will be filming Avengers: Age of Ultron.
