Bryan Singer has revealed that he is in negotiations to direct X-Men: Apocalypse.
Singer is back in the director's chair later this year with X-Men: Days of Future Past, but it has already been announced that a further film in the franchise will go ahead.
Singer helmed and enjoyed huge success with X-Men and X2 and is keen to return and direct further projects.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly he said: "I'm negotiating to direct. We're in the process. We're trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it."
Singer went on to talk about the direction in which we are going to see the next couple of films take.
"[They] address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that.
"It's something that's always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers."
X-Men: Days of Future Past will bring together familiar faces from Singer's original films such as Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan, as well as actors from X-Men: First Class.
First Class took us back to the early years of Professor Xavier and Mangeto, and will see James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender reprise their roles.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is released 22nd May.
