Bryan Cranston says he is 'deliriously happy' about receiving his first Oscar nomination last week.
Cranston picked up a Best Actor nomination for taking on the central role in new biopic Trumbo, which looks at the career and struggles of Hollywood writer.
Speaking to E! News about the nomination, Cranston said: "It's great! You know, sometimes when we become adults we forget to celebrate these moments," he told E! News.
"We don't want to get into that frame of mind when we don't mark those times when it's your anniversary or birthday. And this is one of those times for me. I want to celebrate it!"?
"Put a log on the fire and have a sip of champagne and mark the day and celebrate the day and don't let it go by without saying, 'This is pretty remarkable, what an honour.' I'm deliriously happy!"?
The nomination of Cranston was the only nod that the film received as Helen Mirren missed out in the Best Supporting Actress category.
However, the Best Actor category is a tough one as Cranston is nominated alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Eddie Redmayne, Michael Fassbender and Matt Damon for their work in The Revenant, The Danish Girl, Steve Jobs, and The Marian. DiCaprio is already the heavy favourite to win.
Trumbo is set to be the first big screen outing for Cranston since the success of Godzilla as he teams up with director Jay Roach.
He has also completed work on Get a Job, In Dubious Battle, The Infiltrator and lent his voice to animation movie Kung Fu Panda.
The Oscar winners are announced 28th February and Trumbo is released 5th February.
