Bradley Cooper says that getting to work with Jennifer Lawrence means he has ‘hit the jackpot’.
Cooper and Lawrence are set to reunite on the big screen in the period drama Serena, which marks the third time that the pair has shared the screen.
Silver Linking Playbook was their first project together before re-teaming at the beginning of the year with American Hustle.
With Serena, the pair are set to play husband and wife as the Ron Rash novel is brought to the big screen by director Susanne Bier.
Speaking to the Press Association, Cooper said:
"I've sort of hit the jackpot with being able to work with Jennifer Lawrence. When I knew she was going to play this character, I was fully aware it was going to be comic.
"Once she would breathe life into this character, it would become much more dimensional. It could be very easy to portray her as a stock character and there's just not one moment where you don't believe she's a human being.
"She's a wonderful, wonderful actress. Her biggest asset is probably her level of relaxation when she acts, and because of that, it's a very thrilling thing to be involved with as the partner of the scene."
Serena marks the first time that both Cooper and Lawrence have worked with director Bier, and the movie has been screened as part of the 2014 BFI London Film Festival.
As for Cooper, he secured his second Oscar nomination earlier this year with American Hustle, before going on to enjoy huge box office success this summer with Guardians of the Galaxy, which marks the actor’s first Marvel film.
And we are going to be seeing plenty of him next year as he has already completed work on Clint Eastwood’s latest film American Sniper. The movie will see Cooper take on the real life role of Navy S.E.A.L. Chris Kyle as he teams up with Eastwood for the first time.
The actor has also completed work on the as yet untitled films with directors Cameron Crowe and John Wells.
Serena is released 24th October.
