Brad Pitt is being pursued for a role in Go Like Hell, a movie that would see him reunite with Tom Cruise.
Pitt and Cruise starred together in Interview with the Vampire back in 1995, and this would be their first film together since.
Cruise is already aboard the project; a racing movie from director Joseph Kosinski.
The movie is based on the book Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans and was adapted for the big screen by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.
The film is set to follow the real-life rivalry between American car manufacturer Ford Motor Company and Italian car brand Ferrari, which culminated at the 1966 Le Mans race.
Cruise is set to play car designer Carroll Shelby in the feature.
Pitt will be back on the big screen in the new year with a small role in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave.
He is currently filming World War II dram Fury in the UK, and is also set to return to the role of Gerry Lane in a sequel to World War Z.
World War Z was released this summer and went on to be a box office smash.
