Brad Pitt has confirmed he is in talks for a 'World War Z' sequel.

The 49-year-old actor - who played main character Gerry Lane in this year's original movie - is keen to star in a following up to the zombie thriller but admits another film will only be made if a suitable script is penned.

He told Variety: "We're certainly talking about it, yes.

"We have so many ideas on the table from the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how the zombie worlds work.

"We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further."

'World War Z' - which is based on the 2006 book by Max Brooks - became Pitt's most successful movie ever after earning a huge $533 million at the worldwide box office.

Paramount was recently said to be developing a sequel to the motion picture due to its success, with the movie studio's vice-chairman Rob Moore admitting they will "actively turn to developing a sequel."

He also praised Pitt and the film's producer for promoting the movie extensively.

He said: "The great thing about this process was that it showed what a great partner and producer Brad is. He made a true commitment."
