Scarlett Johansson says Black Widow and Captain America will grow much closer in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Johansson is set to reprise the role of Black Widow for the first time since Avengers Assemble, as Captain America returns to the big screen next month.
And the actress says that the stakes are much higher for both of them this time around.
Speaking to Total Film, the actress says: "Everything is not as it seems. It's not so black and white, it's not so cut and dry, it's not good versus evil.
"The stakes are much higher. It brings them closer together because they find themselves in a vulnerable situation and they're in it together."
This is the third time that Johansson will take on the role of Black Widow, having starred in Iron Man 2 and Avengers Assemble.
It has been hinted that this character will play a much larger role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and a solo film could well be on the horizon.
Filming is set to get underway on Age of Ultron, which will see Johansson reunite with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released 26th March.
