Filming on the Black Panther solo film to get under way at the beginning of next year, says Kevin Feige.
Black Panther is one of the new franchise that is set to be introduced in the next couple of years and we already know that Chadwick Boseman is one board to play the title character.
We also know that Fruitvale Station and Creed filmmaker Ryan Coogler is on board to direct. Feige has also revealed that Coogler is currently working on a draft of the screenplay.
Speaking to Collider about the film how close they were to a finished script, Coogler said: "Very soon. We have a number of writers on it including Ryan Coogler, who is also directing, he's working on the draft right now.
"Between now and the end of the summer there will be more casting announcements. We start filming at the very beginning of next year."
We are going to get our first glimpse of Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War at the end of the month. However, we do no know how big a role he is going to play in the upcoming film.
Boseman is currently the only official member of the Black Panther cast list. We are expecting Andy Serkis to reprise his role Ulysses Klaw; a character we were introduced to in Avengers: Age of Ultron last year.
We could well see Black Panther make an appearance in one or both of the Avengers: Infinity War movies.
We have already seen Boseman star in movies 42, Draft Day and Get On Up, but Black Panther is set to be the biggest role and film of his career to date.
Coogler is one of the most exciting filmmakers around and Black Panther will be only the third feature film of his career. He received acclaim for his work on Fruitvale Station and Creed, which was released earlier this year.
Black Panther is set for a 6th July 2018 UK release.
