Johnny Depp's latest film Black Mass has been given an autumn 2015 release date.
Depp is set to take on the role of Whitey Bulger in the new crime/drama and it will hit the big screen on 18th September next year.
Filming is currently underway on the film, as Scott Cooper returns to the director: this is his first film since Out of the Furnace.
The movie is based on the book Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob by Dick Lehr.
Cooper has brought together a terrific cast for the film as Depp is joined by Joel Edgerton - who will play FBI agent John Connolly - and Benedict Cumberbatch - who is playing Billy Bulger.
The cast list is completed by Jesse Plemons, Sienna Miller, Kevin Bacon, Juno Temple, and Dakota Johnson.
Black Mass follows the true story of Billy Bulger, Whitey Bulger, FBI agent John Connelly and the FBI's witness protection program that was created by J. Edgar Hoover.
Black Mass is released 18th September 2015, however, no UK release date has been announced.
